Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

Posted by Bill Sarto on June 2, 2008

I wish to express my sincere THANK YOU to Nancy Cole, the wife of Bob Cole, our Public Work’s Director. Both Nancy and Bob have for the past few years been going above and beyond the call of duty to help improve the appearance of our Village. We also now have a working fountain at the front entrance to Village Hall.

Mrs. Cole, who does not work for the Village, has been planting flowers (on her own time) at Village Hall, Veterans Garden, Triangle Park and Jack Hill Park. This is indeed true dedication. I recall a year or two ago that both Bob and Nancy Cole were planting flowers on Memorial Day Holiday. This type of sincere dedication deserves a big Thank You.

The Public Works crews have also been working hard continuing to patch and mill streets on the east side of the Village. Delaware Street, Blackhawk Avenue, Apache Avenue, and Hampton Drive are ready to be overlaid next week, weather permitting. The next streets scheduled for resurfacing are Navajo Drive, Indian Lane, Pawnee Road and Chippewa Circle. These streets are all in the Indian section of our Village. The streets and roads in Carpentersville have continued to be improved in the past three years. These are improvements that have been long overdue.

Good things continue to happen. Keep checking back for news of when your street will be fixed.
