I would like to remind all residents that it is important to keep your property up to code. This means of course to keep your lawn clean of debris, the grass should be kept neatly mowed on a regular basis, weeds must not be allowed to get out of control. In short you should always keep your house and yard looking good at all times. Some things our code enforcement officers look for is chipped paint, high grass and weeds and general maintenance of your home and property. To be a good neighbor means taking care of your property. How your property looks reflects back on you, your neighborhood and the entire community. If you are able bodied and know of someone in your neighborhood that needs help, I would encourage you to ask them if you can give them a hand with some of the work around their home. That too is part of being a good neighbor. Who knows, you may make a new friend.
We all want to live in a place we are proud to call home. The look of our Village begins with each of us doing our part. The Village has a new Carpentersville Improvement Committee (CIC) that is trying to find ways to improve the appearance of our Village. If you have a problem keeping your property up, call the Village Hall and talk to the Community Development Department (847) 426-3439 Ext. 277 and find out what options you may have to get some assistance from the Improvement Committee.
